2021 ELA Summer Reading Assignment

This year the Diocese of Albany is launching a new initiative - a "Diocesan-Wide Read." ALl students, teachers, and staff will be reading the same book as part of our summer reading program. Families are more than welcome to read the book as well! The theme of the books this year is environmental awareness. Our hope is that these books will spark meaningful discussions about being good stewards of the Earth and help to create a stronger sense of community.

Middle School students in Grades 6-8 will read Hoot by Carl Hiaasen. Click here for more information on the assignments students will be completing along with the reading.

High School students in Grades 9-12 will read Dry by Neal Shusterman & Jarrod Shusterman. Click here for more information on the assignments students will be completing along with the reading.
