Bede McGuiness 1940-2020/Classes Cancelled Thurs, 1/23 - Regents Exams Still On

Greetings ND-BG Community,

It’s with immense sorrow that we announce that former religion teacher, Bede McGuinness passed away over the weekend after lengthy illness. Living out her dream of teaching, Mrs. McGuinness taught Religion at ND-BG from 1997 until her retirement from teaching in 2015, and dedicated her entire career to Catholic Education. Her loss is felt by the entire Notre Dame-Bishop Gibbons community.

Calling hours for Mrs. McGuinness will be held at Gleason Funeral Home, 730 Union St., Schenectady, NY from 4:00pm – 8:00pm on Wednesday, January 22, 2020. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, January 23, 2020 at 10:00am at the Union Street Campus of St. Kateri Tekakwitha Parish.

In order to allow our faculty, staff, and student body to pay their respects, classes at ND-BG will be canceled on Thursday, January 23^rd. All scheduled Regents Exams will still be offered on Thursday: Global History & Algebra 2 CC. Those families with children taking exams on Thursday will be notified with further information in a separate e-mail.
