On February 4, ND-BG held a retreat day for our middle and high school students. Our Golden Knights assembled in the morning for a prayer service and from there, students went to classes. We reconvened in the early afternoon for a school-wide lunch, and as a community, we created a mural to illustrate the prayer of St. Teresa:
Christ has no body but yours
No hands, no feet on earth but yours.
Yours are the eyes for which he looks
Compassion on this world,
Yours are the feet with which he walks to do good.
Yours are the hands with which he blesses the world,
Yours are the hands, yours are the feet,
Yours are the eyes, you are his body.
Christ has no body but yours
No hands, no feet on earth but yours.
Yours are the eyes with which he looks
Compassion on this world,
Christ has no body now on earth but yours.
As we created the mural, we encouraged our students to reflect on what it means to be the body of Christ and how the prayer of St. Teresa is a reminder that Jesus lives through each of us.
We are putting the finishing touches on our mural, but we look forward to sharing it with you when it is complete.
